# Run TinyAgent From ChatGPT or Claude

> Connect the TinyFish plugin once, then trigger automations from a normal chat

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Capability:** TinyFish plugin (ChatGPT, Claude) or MCP connector (any other client)

Use this when you want to run TinyAgent from inside a chat — ChatGPT or Claude — instead of the
Playground or the API. Connect once; every goal after that is just a chat message.

## Connect Once

> Full install steps, including Grok and the raw MCP server for other clients (Cursor, Windsurf,
> Claude Code, Codex): [Plugins](https://docs.tinyfish.ai/plugins.md) and [MCP Integration](https://docs.tinyfish.ai/mcp-integration.md).

## Run a Goal

Once connected, describe the task in plain language — no separate URL field, no code:

```text theme={null}
Go to https://scrapeme.live/shop/ and extract the first 2 product names and prices.
```

The assistant calls TinyFish's `run_web_automation` tool, streams progress as it works, and
returns the result inline in the chat. For a long-running task, ask it to run in the background
instead:

```text theme={null}
Scrape the pricing pages from these 5 competitor sites at the same time, and let me know when it's done.
```

Ask it to run in the background to keep the chat free — ChatGPT otherwise waits on the run, and
Claude only goes async when asked. See [Available Tools](https://docs.tinyfish.ai/mcp-integration.md#available-tools) for the
full tool list and what triggers each one.

## Authenticated or Recurring Tasks

If the task needs a logged-in session — a dashboard, an account page, a form behind a login wall —
say so directly:

```text theme={null}
Use my saved Salesforce profile to summarize the account health dashboard.
```

The assistant passes `use_profile: true` (and `profile_id` if you name a specific one). Set up the
profile first — see [Create a Google Form and Publish It With a Signed-In Account](https://docs.tinyfish.ai/agent/how-to/create-google-form-with-profile.md)
for the setup flow, which applies the same way from a chat client. Pair it with Vault
(`use_vault: true`) so a stale session can be repaired instead of stalling on a login screen — see
[Scrape Content Behind a Login Using Vault](https://docs.tinyfish.ai/agent/how-to/vault-login.md).

## Common Mistakes

> [accordion] Task stalls at a login screen
>
> The most common way a chat-triggered run doesn't finish is a login wall the agent can't get
> past on its own. Name a saved [Browser Context Profile](https://docs.tinyfish.ai/key-concepts/browser-context-profiles.md)
> or enable [Vault](https://docs.tinyfish.ai/key-concepts/credentials.md) explicitly in the prompt — don't assume the
> assistant will ask for credentials on its own.

> [accordion] Vague goal, vague result
>
> The same prompting rules apply in chat as everywhere else — a vague goal like "get the
> pricing" returns a vague result. Be specific about fields and format, same as the
> [Goal Prompting Guide](https://docs.tinyfish.ai/prompting-guide.md) recommends for the API.

> [accordion] Tool not available in the chat
>
> If the assistant says it can't browse the web or doesn't offer to run the task, the plugin or
> connector likely isn't installed or authenticated yet. Revisit [Connect Once](#connect-once)
> above — reinstalling is safe and doesn't create a duplicate connection.
